About Ashley Cetera

Hi, my name is Ashley Cetera. I am an abstract artist currently living in Pittsburgh, PA. 

I love to paint, and I am excited to share my art. I have had a love of art since I was a small child. I picked up oil painting in high school and fell in love. While in college I studied commercial art and graphic design. I am also exploring acrylic paints and other mediums.

My family inspires me everyday. When I am not painting you can find me spending time with my husband, Lee and three beautiful girls. I also enjoy fashion, makeup, stickers, and lots of sparkle!

Artist Statement

I enjoy communicating my emotions through black and white patterns (mostly polka dot), bright colors, and lots of texture. Currently, my inspiration mostly comes from flowers. I start with an image that inspires me and begin layering exaggerated colors and textures. It is my goal that my art makes people happy and can liven up a room. I am also inspired by colors and how they make you feel. Oil paint helps me to achieve the texture that I like and occasionally I like to play with acrylics, watercolor, and spray paint!

I studied Commercial Art and Graphic Design at Thiel College and received a certification in Graphic Design from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. My Masters of Higher Education is from Youngstown State University. As a part-time abstract artist, I always try to make time to paint and be creative.
